This year the festival is August 29, 2015, 10:00 am-7:00 pm in the downtown area. This is a great event for the whole family and helps raise money to make improvements in the downtown area. Macon Coca-Cola Bottling Co. is a proud supporter of this event.

Leigh Simon from the Macon Downtown Association says, “Macon Coca-Cola Bottling Co. has been a wonderful supporter of the Macon Downtown Association. From the beginning of our community fundraiser, “The Fork & Cork Festival,” Macon Coca-Cola has been instrumental in making us successful by their donations.”

Simon continues, “This festival helps fund the revitalization of the Macon downtown area. These donations have paid for beautification and seed money for grants and educational meetings. Now a portion of Rollins and Oak Street has been restored, called the Pilot Project featuring new historic lamp posts,  landscaping, and sidewalks. Sitting next to this restored area is the original historic 1885 Coca-Cola building. The Pilot Project is a jumping off point for the downtown area. The community can now visualize how the Macon downtown can look with local support.”

Macon Coca-Cola is a proud sponsor of this event. Add the Fork & Cork Festival to your calendar on August 29, 2015!

Macon Coca-Cola Bottling Co. has partnered with Truman State University since 2001. This on-going relationship has allowed Macon Coca-Cola to help fund Truman Athletics each year. We are proud to sponsor the Truman State University Bulldogs and to partner with business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi who run the concession stands. On October 18th, 2014 we were able to showcase this work with Truman State University at halftime of the football game against the University of Indianapolis. Since 2001 we have donated $70,000 to Truman State University! We look forward to continuing this relationship with Truman State University! Go Dogs!

When People Come Together, Good Things Happen

For 127 years Coca-Cola has been bringing people together. We know when people come together, good things happen. It has never been more important than it is today to collaborate to improve our planet, our communities, and our lives. More than just favorite beverages or moments of happiness, we have been making a difference in our local communities.

Coming Together

Obesity is one of the most pressing problems of our time. Everyone agrees something needs to be done, and that’s a good start- because addressing it will take all of us. And as part of the country’s leading beverage company, Coca-Cola plays an important role. We can offer choices and information to help people make decisions that are right for them. We can innovate. And we can help get people moving- and enjoy it- by engaging in communities across the country.

Obesity and being overweight are serious health issues in the United States. The following statistics were compiled by The Coca-Cola Company from government data and third-party researchers to promote understanding of calorie (energy) balance and active, healthy living. See the infographic here.

Aspartame is another important topic in the United States. Aspartame and other no- and low-calorie sweeteners provide a sweet taste and can help people manage calories. Many have questions about these sweeteners, especially aspartame and the foods and drinks that contain it. See the infographic on what science says about this ingredient here.
